03 / Blood changes that lasted beyond the shot
What lasted after CJC-1295 in the early trials
The makers aimed for a drug that would withstand breakdown. A blood-protein attachment extends one form's action. Hormone rises were measured, leaving better health for you unproved.
What the lasting drug form did, in brief
CJC-1295 was developed to keep a hormone request working for longer. The growth-hormone gland responds to the drug by increasing release. The liver's growth-supporting hormone rises after growth hormone increases. These higher readings can't tell you whether a person's health improved.
Forms called CJC-1295 differ in their length of action. CJC-1295 DAC includes an extra part that lets a blood protein hold onto the drug. With that attachment, the drug's action can persist for days. No-DAC lacks that attachment and wears off sooner.
Only small, early trials tested the lasting form in healthy adults. Blood hormones rose for days, and growth-hormone bursts continued [15][16]. Your hoped-for benefits for fat loss, muscle gain, aging, or recovery weren't established. Treatment with this drug hasn't been approved.
The form used and time since treatment help explain your blood result. Your age, sex, and the lab's particular test must also be considered, because the usual range for one group of people may not apply to you or to another test. A high result may show that the drug is still acting. The rise isn't proof that using the drug helps you or avoids harm.
How the blood-protein attachment lengthens the drug action
The opening section of the natural hormone supplied CJC-1295's 29 residues, the joined amino acids that form proteins. Four units were changed to slow breakdown. With DAC, an extra part lets a blood protein hold onto the drug. Being attached makes the drug stay in your body longer.
No-DAC keeps the changes that help resist breakdown but lacks the blood-protein attachment. That form doesn't last as long as the attached drug. The length of action differs even though the names sound much alike. You need the actual form to understand how long hormones might stay raised.
A lab identified CJC-1295 in a mixture tested for banned sports drugs [13]. The article calls the mixture a pharmaceutical preparation; its contents weren't known before testing. The test identified a substance, rather than showing a benefit for patients. Checking that mixture doesn't prove what other bottles contain.

How hormone bursts continued above a higher low point
CJC-1295 makes the growth-hormone gland release more hormone. The liver increases its own growth-supporting hormone in response. Drugs that copy the natural release request are discussed in a review [8]. DAC keeps CJC-1295 active longer through the blood-protein attachment.
The study in healthy men didn't test treatment benefits for patients. The lowest and average growth-hormone readings rose, along with the liver hormone [16]. Between bursts, growth hormone no longer fell as low as before the drug. Bursts rose from that higher low point, but their size and frequency stayed much the same.
Those continued bursts don't establish that the drug was safe for you. A blood draw can catch either a burst or the higher level between bursts. Your doctor needs the time since treatment and the lab's test to read the number, because a burst and the raised low point both affect what a test shows. Repeated draws helped researchers see how long the higher levels lasted.
How long the adult volunteers had higher blood hormones
The early trial involved healthy adults, leaving your treatment questions unanswered. The amount was 30 or 60 micrograms per kilogram, so depended on each volunteer's body weight. Micrograms measure tiny amounts of medicine; kilograms measure a person's body weight. Heavier volunteers received more drug, but those study amounts can't tell you what's safe.
For at least six days, average growth hormone was two to ten times the level before treatment. The liver hormone remained raised for nine to eleven days. After further study shots, the liver hormone stayed high for up to 28 days. The estimated time for blood to retain only half as much drug was 5.8 to 8.1 days [15].
Another small study measured healthy men's hormones a week after treatment. Their lowest growth-hormone readings rose; the average reading increased about 46%. The liver hormone increased about 45%, and growth-hormone bursts continued [16]. The blood increases didn't answer long-term health questions or establish an amount safe for you.
Researchers also checked blood proteins in 11 healthy young men. Several proteins changed, with some changes following the rise in the liver hormone [14]. Researchers thought those proteins might help identify increased hormone release. The studies measured blood responses, rather than showing whether patients could do more in daily life, feel better over time, or have fewer harms than people receiving another treatment.
What remains unknown about reactions and the reported death
People using CJC-1295 as a research drug outside trials report these experiences. The experiences described haven't been checked through treatment comparisons in a trial. Many describe deeper sleep or puffiness from retaining water. Reports also include easier exercise recovery, gradual fat loss, a leaner appearance, tingling hands, or reactions where the shot went in.
Other accounts mention energy, focus, skin changes, flushing, tiredness, headaches, hunger, or higher blood sugar. Flushing means skin looking red or feeling hot. These accounts don't count harms reliably or establish their cause, and many fail to distinguish DAC from no-DAC. Elsewhere, testing identified the drug in a mixture whose ingredients hadn't been known [13].
CJC-1295 has no treatment approval; small early trials showed prolonged hormone rises [15]. Possible concerns include water retention, higher blood sugar, and effects on unwanted growth in illnesses such as cancer. Your immune system, the body's defense against germs and foreign substances, could also react against the drug. The studies don't establish how often that reaction might happen or what you would notice.
Development work didn't lead to approval, and a public report about that work mentions a death. The report doesn't identify the person clearly enough to say whether the person received the drug in a trial. The report also doesn't establish the cause or link the death to this drug. That leaves harm and safety unsettled for you; athletes in sports with drug testing are barred from using the drug.
Why a longer blood response leaves health benefits unproved
CJC-1295 studies mainly measured blood rather than changes in everyday health. Tesamorelin trials treated a particular fat-storage problem, while sermorelin trials measured childhood growth. The lasting hormone rises after CJC-1295 were measured for days [15]. Continued bursts [16] and other blood-protein changes [14] don't prove that people became healthier.
Your result can't be understood without the name of the form given. A blood protein holds onto DAC, whereas no-DAC remains unattached. A test result needs the length of that form's action beside it. Your age, sex, lab, blood-draw time, and the people studied also affect what a comparison can mean.
Higher liver hormones confirm a response to CJC-1295. The increase leaves questions about whether lasting treatment helps or harms people. Keeping hormones raised for longer can't settle those questions. For your health question, the useful study would measure how people's health changed with treatment.
